Thought of the Week

Words such as
further and farther,
then and than,
lay and lie,
are very annoying, since you occasionally forget the
difference between them.
Like would you say,
I lay down on the bed,
or I lie down on the bed?
Is the diamond farther than I can reach,
or further than I can reach?
This is but one aspect of the difficulty in weaving between
various obstructions and creating
a grammatically correct
sentence, paragraph, or story. |
